For thousands of families trapped in conflict, living under siege, and struggling with daily survival, the meat from Qurbani might be the only source of protein they receive all year.
While we celebrate Eid with abundance, families in Gaza still face hardships because cesefire does not put difficulties to an end. Destroyed homes, empty kitchens, and children who have only known fear and hunger. Amidst this suffering, your Qurbani becomes a message of mercy, a sign that the world still cares.
By giving your Qurbani to Gaza, you’re not only fulfilling a sacred duty, you are also nourishing bodies, restoring dignity, and offering hope where it is desperately needed.
This Eid, let your sacrifice reach beyond borders. Let it reach Gaza.
For Gaza, Qurbani animals will be procured and slaughtered in Egypt, then immediately frozen in in shape of canned meat and will be transported to the people of Gaza as soon as possible.
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
“For every hair on the animal sacrificed, you will receive a reward.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 5541)

In 2025, Islamic Relief carried out 4,417 Qurbanis in Gaza, delivering 77,776 meat packs and reaching 412,513 people, many of whom had no access to meat for the entire year. In 2026, your support is more vital than ever.
In 2025, your Qurbani donations reached more than 400,000 people in Gaza, alhamdullilah!
1. Where will the Gaza Qurbani be implemented this year?
Our Qurbani programme takes special consideration of Gaza and its people. However, due to the ongoing war, it is not possible for us to procure livestock inside Gaza. Consequently, Islamic Relief will procure and slaughter the Qurbani animals in Egypt during the days of Eid al-Adha which will then be packaged, transported and distributed within Gaza.
2. How will the Qurbani meat be stored and transported to Gaza
The canning process ensures that the quality of meat is preserved, and once canned the meat has a shelf life of 12 months therefore it does not need to be frozen or transported in refrigerated trucks.
2. Are there any impacts on the local market in Gaza?
Yes. There are no live animals available in Gaza currently, so the program will not affect local supply or prices.
3. When will the Qurbani meat reach Gaza People?
We aim to distribute the Qurbani meat in Gaza as soon as possible following the days of Eid al Adha. We are prepared for the possibility that there may be delays at the border crossings but we are working with local partners to ease this process. Islamic Relief is committed to delivering donors’ Qurbani to the people of Gaza as intended.
If the delays surpass four months after Eid al-Adha, we will redirect the meat to newly displaced Palestinian refugees residing in Egypt, but this will only be a last resort. We remain hopeful that Gaza will receive the Qurbani meat within four months, insha’Allah.
4. What type of animals will be used?
The Qurbani programme for Gaza will be implemented with large animals, mainly cows and bulls. Large animals are equivalent to seven shares of Qurbani.
