The project aims to contribute towards socio-economic development and improved (WASH) Water Sanitation and Hygiene services through community-based institutions. The project was designed in consultation with its targeted communities and relevant stakeholders, ensuring the involvement of the community organizations and relevant stakeholders throughout the project life cycle through developing the Village development plans (VDPs). Community-based institutions will implement it to ensure sustainable development in the targeted areas. The developed VDPs will address the pressing needs of targeted communities incorporated in the village development plan, the correct selection of multiple collective vital needs, joint schemes, and deserving beneficiaries. The project interventions will contribute to the project’s sustainability by addressing the actual needs of the deserving communities. Additionally, operation and maintenance committees will be formed and capacitated to repair and maintain the physical infrastructure schemes in the long run.
