Islamic Relief in Malawi

Islamic Relief Malawi was established in 2006, following an official presidential request for international humanitarian support.

Islamic Relief is distributing food, improving water, sanitation and irrigation facilities. We are also working in partnership with local communities to improve livelihoods and increase their ability to cope with droughts.

A clean drinking water project is in progress in the southern districts of Chikwawa and Nsanje, where more than 60 percent of the population has very limited access to water. Regular food distributions are carried out in the drought affected districts of Chikwawa and Mangochi. During Ramadan special food distributions are also carried out in the drought affected districts.
