Standing with Flood-Affected Communities

Heavy monsoon rains, flash floods, and landslides have wreaked havoc across Pakistan since late June 2025, claiming lives and injuring hundreds of people and thousands of homes. Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJ&K) remain worst affected, with families losing not only their homes but also livestock and farmland. The most recent mid-August spell triggered devastating cloudbursts and flash floods, particularly in KP and GB, where hundreds of lives and livelihoods have been lost. With further heavy rainfall predicted in the coming days, the humanitarian crisis is expected to deepen.

Our teams are evacuating and relocating vulnerable communities while providing cooked meals and clean drinking water. Essential food packs, including canned items and daily necessities, are being distributed to those in need. To prevent the spread of water-borne diseases, hygiene kits are also being delivered. We continue to closely monitor the situation and stand ready to scale up our response as the crisis unfolds.

“Our partnership with the government has been crucial in addressing the urgent needs of flood victims across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. We have maintained our commitment to being agile responders, and I’m proud that our teams were among the first humanitarian organizations on the ground in Buner and the surrounding districts when the floods hit.

This collaborative approach with local and provincial authorities has enabled us to rapidly assess needs and deliver life-saving assistance to the most vulnerable communities. Our long-standing presence in Pakistan and established networks have allowed us to mobilize resources quickly, providing immediate relief including emergency shelter, clean water, food packages, and medical assistance.

The scale of devastation in Buner and adjoining areas requires sustained, coordinated efforts. We remain committed to working alongside government partners and other humanitarian organizations to ensure no one is left behind in this critical response phase, while also planning for longer-term recovery and resilience-building initiatives.”
