Heavy monsoon rains, flash floods, cloudbursts and landslides continue to impact Pakistan, leaving over 1,002 deaths, 1,603 injuries nationwide, more than 12,569 houses damaged, 6,508 livestock perished, alongside the destruction of 238 bridges and 658.25 km of roads.
Flood waters have forced over 2.41 million of people to flee their homes in search for higher ground. The Punjab flood emergency is being described as the most severe riverine flood crisis since 2010.
The hydrological situation remains critical in central and Southern Punjab due to riverine flooding along the Sutlej, Chenab, and Ravi rivers, with the flood wave now moving towards Sindh where very high flows are expected.
