Together for protection

Across Pakistan, many people remain invisible including women restricted by harmful norms, persons with disabilities facing exclusion, children at risk of early marriages, and communities pushed deeper into vulnerability during crises. Islamic Relief Pakistan’s inclusive and gender-sensitive programming is designed to reach those most often left behind, restoring dignity, safety, and equal opportunity.

IRP has supported thousands through protection-focused interventions that addressed both immediate risks and long-term rights. This included empowering persons with disabilities through access to healthcare, rehabilitation, and social protection, combating gender-based violence by establishing safe spaces, strengthening helplines, and providing survivor-centered psychosocial and legal support, and preventing child marriage through faith-inspired action in partnership with UNICEF, engaging religious leaders, communities, and government institutions to protect children’s rights.

IRP has also strengthened national protection mechanisms by working with FOSPAH to promote legal awareness, prevent harassment, and support women’s inheritance and justice rights. Through community-led identification, accessible services, and institutional partnerships, IRP ensured that survivors were not only assisted but seen, heard, and protected reaffirming that every human being deserves dignity, safety, and care, especially in times of crisis.
