Pakistan: For the love of cricket and climate

Climate change is one of the most pressing challenges being faced by Pakistan, which has impacted outdoor sports like cricket. Islamic Relief Pakistan took the exciting opportunity to raise awareness about climate change and how it can be devastating for the sports in the years to come at the Kashmir Premier League T20 held in Muzaffarabad (Pakistan-administered Kashmir) in August 2021.

Pakistan is a nation that loves to see cricket and T20, a shorter format of the game, enjoys unmatched popularity and interest from the masses. The teams included famous cricketers of Pakistan and players from other countries.

Our colleagues and sponsored children watched matches in the stadium and asked for a decisive climate action. IR Pakistan together with the government and other actors is determined to protect the environment and sports for the future generations.
