Around 400 unskilled and unemployed youth from Tehsil Bara of Khyber district have been enrolled for the skills development in different technical training institutions. Youth are learning skills in various trades such as refrigeration and air conditioning, motor cycle maintenance and repair, solar panel installation and repair and auto mechanic.
The six-month skill development programme will help youth acquire the necessary skills to get employment opportunities or run their own businesses, which will ultimately help them improve the socio-economic status and earn sustainable livelihoods for their families.
Islamic Relief Pakistan in collaboration with United Nations Development Programme-UNDP is implementing activities in Khyber district. This skill development programme is part of ‘FATA Economic Revitalization Programme’ (FERP) funded by USAID.
