UPDATE: Our organic Qurbani was a pilot project and as a result, we are not able to take any more orders as we have reached our limit.

You can still perform non-organic Qurbani in the UK at the price of £150.

The Prophet (PBUH) said: “None of you will have faith until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.” [as narrated in Bukhari]

That is why we lovingly choose only the highest quality animals for your Qurbani. This year Islamic Relief is piloting Qurbani in the UK from organic animals.

What is special about organic Qurbani?

Organic means working with nature not against it. The land is managed using fewer pesticides and the animals are managed to minimise veterinary interventions.

Organic lambs are reared outdoors in their natural surroundings typically occupying the hilly upland areas. They love to roam and feed-off natural grass and other plants which help maintain the beautiful national countryside.

Therefore, the food is considered wholesome and this approach to farming in general is more caring towards the animals and ecological systems. This means that organic meat is often pricier than conventional meat.

The ethical approach

We want to introduce and give donors the option of taking a more ethical approach in their consumption of meat, which is also better for their health and the environment.

The Qurbani animal will be slaughtered in line with the Sharia.

“For every hair of the Qurbani you receive a reward from Allah (SWT).” [as narrated in Tirmidhi]

Islamic Relief’s organic option is £200 and includes meat being delivered by courier in an ice cool box right to your door. One-third of the meat will already have been taken off and distributed to the needy.

The Qurbani will be performed on the third day and matured for a number of days to improve the flavour and tenderness of the meat.

The boxes will start arriving between Wednesday and Friday following Eid.
