Since late June, Islamic Relief Pakistan has been on the frontline of the monsoon flood emergency, reaching 86,651 individuals across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab with life-saving support. Till now IRP provided hot meals and safe drinking water to 57,090 people and distributed 1,300 food packs, 1,300 hygiene kits, 700 household kits, tents, 200 multipurpose cash grants, and tents and newborn baby kits, along with 400 units of animal fodder to protect livelihoods.
The response began with smaller distributions in Rawalpindi and Rajanpur but was quickly scaled up after the state of emergency in KP and Punjab, with teams deployed in flood affected areasvto deliver rapid relief. Alongside immediate aid, IRP continues to conduct detailed needs assessments in flood-hit areas to address widespread losses to infrastructure, WASH, crops, livestock, and shelters, ensuring that both urgent relief and long-term recovery needs are effectively met.
