Islamic Relief Pakistan: Rethinking Collective Responsibility towards the Environment

Climate change is affecting Pakistan at an alarming pace. With changing weather patterns, melting glaciers and constantly rising air pollution levels, there is an urgent need for immediate and decisive climate action.

Alongside implementing climate sensitive adaptation strategies, Islamic Relief Pakistan is building partnerships with government, think tanks, academia, media and other stakeholders to address the mounting threats.

In connection to this, Islamic Relief Pakistan together with the International Parliamentary Congress, organised a consultation session. Top of the agenda for the session was the need to initiate meaningful and consistent discussions with parliamentarians for climate mitigation through legislation, budget allocations and future courses of action.

Participating in panel discussions, parliamentarians emphasised the need to work together to protect the environment through implementing existing policies.
