As unprecedented monsoon floods continue to devastate communities across Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamic Relief Pakistan has stepped up as one of the leading humanitarian responders. To date, IRP has successfully reached 100,000+ flood-affected people with urgent, life-saving aid.
Since late June, floodwaters have submerged thousands of villages, destroyed crops, swept away livestock, and displaced millions of people. In response, IRP teams were among the first to arrive in hard-hit districts such as Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh, Buner, Swat, Shangla, and Kasur, ensuring rapid support to families in crisis.
Relief packages distributed so far include:
IRP’s efforts extend beyond simply providing aid. Alongside distributions, hygiene awareness sessions have been conducted, especially for women, equipping families with the knowledge to safeguard themselves against post-flood health risks. This integrated approach ensures that vulnerable communities not only receive essentials but also understand how to make the best use of them for long-term wellbeing.
While reaching 100,000+ individuals is a major milestone, the scale of devastation is far greater. Millions remain displaced or at risk of food insecurity, malnutrition, and disease. IRP is committed to expanding its outreach with the support of partners, donors, and communities, with an ambitious target of reaching 1 million flood-affected people in the coming months.
