During the month of Ramadan, Islamic Relief distributes food packs to these whose diet lack so much. The purpose of these distributions is to share the Ramadan Blessings and address food security for the most vulnerable households in food deficient areas where people do not have access to food needed for adequate nutrition. Each food packet holds 40kg of food that is important to the local diet of the recipients, and is designed to help a family of five to seven people. This generally includes rice, lentils, oil, salt, sugar, flour, tea, and dates.
This Programme is designed to complement IRP longer-term relief and development projects that provide sustainable assistance in improving living conditions of vulnerable communities.
Every year Islamic Relief distributes Qurbani meat and rejoices with the marginalized communities. Each meat packs on an average holds 5kg meat and allows some families to eat meat after a whole year.
