Islamic Relief Pakistan has taken many initiatives under the umbrella of Child and Woman Development Programme to make this world a safer and happier place for children. Amongst many such initiatives, the proposed project “Communities Connected, Child Protected” is another initiative of Islamic Relief Pakistan. This project has been proposed in response to a global call for proposals by NetHope (2017 Device Challenge). The project envisages building smart communities and connecting them with responsive Child Protection services and safety nets. The proposed intervention calls for collaboration with Ministry of Human Rights (MoHR) which will further take this project up and will replicate this model in other areas after successful project completion.
To share this idea a meeting was held with Secretary, Ministry of Human Rights (MoHR) on 9th February, 2017. Country Director of Islamic Relief Pakistan, Adnan Cheema, Head of Programmes, Zain Ul Abedin along with Child Care Coordinator, Afshan Jamal met Secretary MoHR and her team to present IR’s unique and creative initiative on Child Protection.
Furthermore, Islamic Relief is going to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ministry of Human Rights to explore avenues of future collaborative initiatives with regards to Child and Woman Development.
